PIROSAINT - Better You Than Me (Lyric video)

New York City Band PIROSAINT released the lyric video for the track 'Better You Than Me', that comes off the album 'Know Thyself' released via Digmetalworld in 2021.

This is the opening track of the album and shows how the band have worked its ways around metal music to express a deeper message. Drummer Ignacio Orellana commented: ' We wanted to make a love song and from our experiences, this was what it came up. A pretty cheerful ballad about love, deceptions and frustration that we are sure everyone can relate one way or another.'

Know Thyself was recorded between 2013-2016 and 2020-2021 at Oily Sounds Studios NYC by Ignacio Orellana and is made up of new compositions, previously unreleased tracks and a special bonus for fans following PIROSAINT since their beginnings in 1989.

Originally based in Santiago, Chile, PIROSAINT joined a small but powerful and enthusiastic local heavy metal scene with bands such as Necrosis, Massacre and Criminal. After releasing two demos in 1992 and 1994, the band issued an EP called New God in 1997. Know Thyself, PIROSAINT’s long-waited debut full-length, marks the band’s second active decade.

Know Thyself’s vocal tracks were recorded by Eduardo Vidal and Andrés Valdivieso in Santiago, Chile. All guitar solos were recorded at Oily Sounds Studios by Ignacio Orellana and Angel Thorne Music CO LLC by Rob Thorne in Bethel, CT, except “Everyday’s war,” recorded by Regisson Silva in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at his home studio.

   

All lyrics were written by Gonzalo Rodriguez and Ignacio Orellana. All music was written by PIROSAINT except “The Debt” and “Faster than before’ by Gonzalo Rodriguez, Alfredo Vicencio and Ignacio Orellana, and “Pirosaint” by Gonzalo Rodriguez, Fransua Tapia, Paolo Maugart and Ignacio Orellana. SUNLORD - Like A Champion [lyric video]

QUEMASANTOS - Somos Legion (feat. Gonzalo Rodriguez) (lyric video)

'Somos Legion' 2020 presenta a dos cantantes del metal Chileno (Pirosaint y Vastator). La canción se lanzó originalmente en 2012 y luego se remezcló en 2015 para un programa de televisión canadiense llamado "Motive". Originalmente, la canción "Somos Legion" fue escrita en el 2012 por los miembros de thrash metal de la banda Pirosaint para el álbum recopilatorio llamado "La Educación, Nuestra Razón". "Somos Legion" se incluyó junto con otras 12 bandas como Ratzinger, Krudo, Primate, UDK, Primitivo y más. Este álbum recopilatorio se puede descargar gratis en Bandcamp.

Originalmente fue escrito para el miembro original de la banda Gonzalo Rodríguez, para que pudiera participar con la banda, pero después de su accidente de hogar alrededor de 2011. Desafortunadamente no pudo terminar lo que había comenzado, por lo que los miembros encontraron un reemplazo con el veterano cantante Nelson Díaz de Vastator. Tambien conto con la participacion de Sebastian Osorio, guitarrista de Raining. Grabado por Ignacio Orellana en Oily Sound Studios en Nueva York y mezclado y masterizado por Cristian Olivares en Audio Custom en Santiago, Chile.

En 2015, se le pidió a la banda que licenciara la canción para un programa de televisión canadiense llamado "Motive", donde la canción se usó en el episodio 3 de su cuarta temporada llamada "Index Case". Grabado por Ignacio Orellana en Oily Sound Studios en Nueva York y mezclado y masterizado por Ignacio Figeroa en ignacioffm Studios en Viña del Mar, Chile.

En 2020, Gonzalo Rodríguez regresó para trabajar con Pirosaint y, a la luz de eso, hemos reunido esas viejas pistas inacabadas de él y las hemos mezclado con las de Nelson Díaz, y hemos hecho una nueva versión con los dos cantantes. Grabado, mezclado y masterizado por Ignacio Orellana en Oily Sound Studios en Nueva York.

Prog-metal quartet SOUNDSCAPE to release brand new material.  Cover art revealed.

The Connecticut-based prog-metal outfit SOUNDSCAPE have announced the release of their first new recordings since 2009’s Grave New World.  Rob Thorne (vocals), Todd Rose (guitar), Scott Waite (bass) and Lou Caldarola (drums) reactivated the band and began recording brand new songs last year.  The first single “Insatiable” breaks this Friday on Thorne’s Angel Thorne Music label (SRGILS/Caroline/Universal) and will be available on all online digital formats including Spotify, You Tube, and Apple Music (including MFiT).

“The band has never sounded better,” says Thorne, whose primary gig is fronting the metal band Sacred Oath.  “We all had some downtime over the winter months to really buckle down and get these songs on tape.  I think the first single is inspiring and will definitely give fans a good idea of what’s brewing.”   Soundscape plans to release more songs later in 2018.

Soundscape guitarist Todd Rose put the cover design together after much discussion with Thorne and Caldarola.   “We all feel pretty strongly that this is a unique time in human history,” said Rose.  “The artwork and the lyric video may be disturbing, but look around you.  More people are plugged into their own virtual realities than the living, breathing world in front of them.”
